Beach project pause
BEACH Energy has not made the decision on whether jobs will be lost at its Port Campbell plant.
However, the company is expected to cut 30 per cent of its workforce.
A Beach Energy spokesperson said a pause has also been put on its Otway Carbon Capture and Storage project, which had been subject to early feasibility assessments.
“As Beach implements new organisational structure, the reduction of staff numbers at particular sites is yet to be finalised,” the spokesperson said.
“Importantly, the safe operation of our facilities will remain the priority.”
The spokesperson said Beach may look at the Otway Carbon Capture and Storage project again in the future “if the commerciality of the project improves”.
