Great results on the track

CAMPERDOWN little athletes have been kept busy, completing the first half of the season on their home track last Friday before tackling the state relay championships on Saturday.

Last Friday was week 10 and the last night of the first half of the season.

Athletes helped spread the Christmas cheer, dressing in their favourite Christmas outfit on Friday.

Children were lucky to receive a zooperdooper and candy cane from Santa Rae and her helper Mrs Claus, and Elf on the shelf Marsha and her little helper Elf on the shelf Marshmallow.

This made for a night full of laughter and family fun.

With more than 80 athletes participating and over 170 personal bests achieved, a great night was had.

Many thanks to everyone for a great start to the season and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

The first competition night for the second half of the 2024/25 season will be held on January 31.

Nine Camperdown athletes participated in last Saturday’s state relay championships at the Meadowglen International Athletic Stadium in Epping.

Everyone went out and gave their absolute best.

While it wasn’t Camperdown’s day to walk away with a medal, all athletes did walk away with great personal bests, experience, friends, laughter and fun.

Outstanding results:

Female 14 years, 4x100m, 58.61 (21st) - Athena Chivell, Maya Smith, Jess Paton and Jade Nesseler.

Male 14 years, medley relay, 2:48.91 (15th) - Harry Roberts, Dane Nicholls, Lukas Hrebenyuk and Charlie Unwin; 4x100m, 58.64 (23rd) - Ely Teal, Charlie Unwin, Dane Nicholls and Harry Roberts.

4x200m, 1:59.41 (16th) - Lukas Hrebenyuk, Dane Nicholls, Charlie Unwin and Harry Roberts.

Mixed 14 years, 4x200m, 1:57.01 (14th) - Athena Chivell, Maya Smith, Charlie Unwin and Harry Roberts.
