Lions to field under 17 side
INTEREST from local junior cricketers will see Noorat Terang field its first ever under 17 team in the Warrnambool Moyne and District Cricket Association competition.
Noorat Terang will this season enter under 13s, 15s and 17s which allows for any junior male or female cricketer to participate in the sport.
Firsts cricketer Bailey Kavenagh will coach the side, along with thirds’ joint captain Toby Roberts.
The under 17s will play on Tuesday afternoons throughout the season.
Training for all juniors starts this afternoon (Thursday) at 4.30pm at the Noorat Recreation Reserve.
The under 15s will be coached by two first 11 cricketers, Tyson Hay and international recruit Isaac Toombs (who arrived in Australia yesterday).
The under 15 games will be played on Friday afternoons.
The under 13 side will be coached by parents and thirds players John Clarke and Tom Conheady, with their games on Saturday mornings.
Any junior interested in training/playing should attend training or contact the club via its Facebook page.
While the draws are yet to be finalised for juniors, all players, parents and supporters are encouraged to download the play cricket app where you can see the draws, follow live scores, results, statistics and ladders for all grades in seniors and juniors.
