Stars shine on court
THE STARS have shone bright in the grand final of the Mortlake mixed netball competition.
The short season came to an end recently, with the grand final played between Stars and Mortlake Missiles.
The competition had four very competitive teams who played each other twice in the seven-week competition.
With only four teams, it was fitting to have the two top teams play off in a grand final.
In contrast to the competitive football/netball season, this light-hearted competition enables siblings, mothers, fathers and their children to play together, along with their friends.
The Stars remained undefeated throughout the season and Mortlake Missiles finished with three wins and three losses.
The grand final match saw Stars defeated Missiles 37-18.
Best players for the Stars were Holly Fowler and Josh Slater while Daniel Fowler and Regan Mifsud were best for Missile.
The best and fairest awards went to Hamish Hobbs and Letitia Howat.
Runners-up were Daniel Fowler and Paeturi Hapuki, and Holly Jones.
